Would you believe it? We are actually ahead of the game this year! With a growing panel of committed committee members, we are planning the best event of the 2011 season! I will be updating you with all the new activities, but we are really planning a great event for 2011!
I am honored to once again chair this great event – and with my co-chair Mr. Al Swan, we intend to gather our strengths, get our energy up to par ~ and write out our lists! Yep, that’s what happens when you become a grandparent – lists come in so darn handy! But the good news is . . . . . when I get that blank stare in these eyes, Mr. Al knows to just give me a moment – it will all come back to me!
Judy Musgrove, Chair
Our event will kick off with a grand set of activities for the children.
In the previous years, we earned dollars by selling (awesome donated) bake sale items and raffle prizes. This consistently helped to cover the costs that were incurred to do this event.
This year, we are instituting a “Ticket Purchasing” sale. Tickets will be sold to all, and everyone will use their tickets to participate in applicable activities. Example:
- BBQ Meal – Hotdog, Chips & Drinks – 3 tickets
- Bake Sale – Most bake sale goodies will be one ticket ($1.00) for baggies and small plates of cookies, fudge, brownies and cupcakes. Whole pies and cakes will be priced at $10.00 and more and will make wonderful Easter dinner desserts.
- Petting Zoo – 1 ticket
- Easter Baskets – 1 ticket
This community really comes together and helps with this event. Area Residents bake, donate plastic eggs, candy and stickers, napkins, tape, ribbon, etc. With Choreographed Dancers by Studio 16, Hip Entertainment on hand with their P.A. System, Field Patrol, Sheriff’s K-9 Unit, Fingerprinting, SPCA, Face Painting, Cookie Decorating and so much more going on, we know that everyone will have a grand time.
Bringing Smiles to the children, watching their eyes open in awe at learning about caring for a little animal, helping them get their eggs, and having their faces painted with awesome designs, is just the tip of the iceberg for this event.
So, Fellow Community Residents – come join the fun. Purchase your tickets and help to support this event. With cash donations, supplies donated and tickets purchased, the cost will stay reasonable, expenses will be covered and we will all have a grand time.
These dogs are simply phenomenal!
The Sac Sheriff will be on hand, with their fingerprinting, K-9 Unit and info to share -
Stop by and say hello!
You know, we have many things around the home that we can donate -
you will be on the page that gives you a list of items that our furry friends could use!
Bring them to the Easter Egg Event and give your donation to the SPCA there! Visit with their furry friends and ask questions. See how you can help!
Well, my 2nd bathroom is full of Plastic Eggs in white garbage sacks! You chuckling yet? Yep, it is that time once again -
The Rancho Murieta Mom’s Group (Charlotte Dubey) is once again heading up the Plastic Egg Collection, and the treats that will be inside each of those eggs. Also asking for bake sale donations – Our Bake Sale chair – Bronwyn Anthony will be taking those tasty treats to sell.
Monday evening, the 22nd, we are having an Easter Egg Hunt Meeting at the Gumbingers at 7:00 p.m. We will be working through our agenda of items, and a complete list of chair people will go up on the website.
Can you believe it? Easter is just around the corner! Want to help? Have an idea? Need to earn those community service hours for school?
Did you know that approximately 800 children gathered eggs last year? It was a huge success, but it didn’t go without a few glitches.
A wrap up meeting was held after the event ~ solutions were identified ~ additional idea’s were noted ~
This year ~ with your help ~ our annual Easter Egg Hunt Event will be the hit of the season. We are lining up chair people, establishing connections and taking on community volunteers.
